NYRA Goes Local For National TV Production

It was announced today that The New York Racing Association, Inc (NYRA) has retained Carr-Hughes Productions, of Saratoga Springs, as its television production company for their groundbreaking national television deal with the NBC Sports Group.

This first of its kind series will air "live," all summer long, weekends from historic Saratoga Race Course. It will be the most extensive "live" major national television coverage of racing from Saratoga in the track's history. The project will bring extensive exposure to the Saratoga region and will be produced locally.

Of these one-hour, “live from the track” shows, three will air on NBC and five will air on VERSUS,covering all seven Saturdays plus one Sunday of the Saratoga meet.
“We're extremely proud and honored that NYRA has chosen us, a local company, to produce this very important programming. Our programs will include not only the weekend’s major races but also showcase to the country the history and charm of the Saratoga region,” said Carr-Hughes Executive Producer, Bob Hughes. "Importantly, we have hired a large number of locals to round out our production team," he added.

The Carr-Hughes studios are located at 393 Church Street in Saratoga Springs. Well known for its work on major sporting events like the Olympics, Carr-Hughes has an extensive history producing programming for NBC, ESPN and other major networks and employs a full time staff of 9.
