FORBES’ FIRSTERS FOR SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4

 

RACE 6, ALL TWO-YEAR-OLDS, 7 FURLONGS, DIRT, 3:37 P.M.

TO HONOR AND SERVE (2yo bay colt) is the first foal out of Pilfer, a listed stakes winner, to compete. Pilfer is out of the stakes-winning and Grade 2-placed mare Misty Hour, who also produced Grade 2 Fitz Dixon Cotillion Breeders’ Cup Handicap winner India. To Honor and Serve, from the first crop of Bernardini, sold for $575,000 at last year’s Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

ECONOMIC SUMMIT (2yo bay colt), by Malibu Moon, fetched $12,000 at Keeneland in September and was resold for $270,000 at the OBS March Selected Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training after breezing a furlong in 10 2/5 seconds (video). His dam, Summit Lite, is out of Grade 3 winner Very Special Lite and is a half-sister to Grade 3-winning turf horse Strategic Partner.

PRAETEREO (2yo gray or roan colt) is out of Deb’s Charm, who as a juvenile finished second in the Grade 2 Darley Alcibiades and is a half-sister to Tasha’s Miracle, a winner of two Grade 3 races and third in the Grade 1 Las Virgenes. Pratereo, a son of Giant’s Causeway, was acquired for $250,000 at Keeneland in September.

DR. TOM G (2yo bay colt), originally a $30,000 Keeneland September yearling, was purchased for $130,000 at Fasig-Tipton’s Selected Two-Year-Olds In Training sale after breezing a furlong in 10 4/5 seconds (video). By Broken Vow, Dr. Tom G is out of the unraced mare Lelander, a half-sister to restricted stakes winner American Cash and stakes-placed runner and $339,015 earner Chanceisalady.
